Is it Ghar Wapsi ?
In 2016, there was an incident at JNU on the death anniversary of Afzal Guru in which several students faced charges because there were allegations that they had raised anti-India slogans. Because of that, many student leaders like Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid got arrested. After that, university students protested against the BJP regime, and in that protest, Shehla Rashid became the face of the students. On various media platforms, she was very critical towards the Modi government and RSS regimes but now the same Shehla Rashid is praising Narendra Modi and saying he is a selfless man and is doing a lot for India on the International Front
“No exclusion of Muslims from the system”
She addressed the controversy by refuting claims of Muslim exclusion from the system. This assertion has added fuel to the fire, particularly given the current context where another JNU student and activist, also a Muslim, Umar Khalid finds himself behind bars. The juxtaposition of these events has intensified the discourse. Now people are comparing her with another Muslim JNU activist Umar Khalid that he is the one who still has spine, and some are saying in Twitter that “Sab Bikte hai, Kharidne wala, Hona Chahiye”.
