
The Lok Sabha has approved the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, aiming to designate two seats for members of the Kashmiri migrant community and one seat for individuals representing displaced persons from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the legislative assembly.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pandita expressed appreciation for the bill’s passage, highlighting the significance of allocating two seats for Kashmiri Pandits in the assembly. He termed it a momentous occasion for the Kashmiri Pandit community and emphasized that this move would enhance their political empowerment.
