It’s been 8 years, since Rohith left this world but his idea about egalitarian society is alive. Vemula is a PhD scholar of University of Hyderabad, whose scholarship was stopped by the Government of India and also oust from university hostel because he was raising pertinent social issues under the banner of Ambedkar Students Association. It is said that Rohith Vemula committed suicide on 17 January, 2016 but many students said that Vemula did not commit suicide he was forced to die and termed the death as institutional murder. His death sparked huge protests in India, many Ambedkarites staged protest in abroad universities also. Today, after 8 years students seeks justice in Vemula case because caste discrimination and institutional murders are common in Indian educational system.
