In the recent past when eight ex-Indian navy officers were trapped in Qatar and given death sentence as a punishment by Qatari government. As, it has been reported that these eight officers were spying for Israel so, in return they were given such harsh punishment. After much diplomatic conversation between two countries the death sentences has been ward off, and now out of eight navy officers, seven were returned to India. It is said that Qatar did not want to spoil its relationship with India, as large Indian diaspora is working in Qatar and contributing in the development of Qatar, so this step has been taken to maintain cordial relationship between two countries.
