Dalit boy beaten just for touching the water bucket

In the Alwar district of Rajasthan, a Dalit boy was beaten by an upper caste man because he touched a water bucket. The incidence took place on 30th March in a government school. An eight year old boy, who is a student of class 4th went to a handpump to drink water, located in school premises. He kept aside a water bucket in order to fetch water for himself. Then an upper caste men came and started beating the boy, one of the relatives who are passing by heard the screaming of the boy then he rushed and found a man was beating him. When the incidence was narrated to the father of the boy, the father went to nearest police station and registered the case under SC/ST Act.

According to father of the boy, the boy is terrified to go back to school, and said ‘If I will go the school then the man will beat me again’. The father also said that the man refused to apologise and even used casteist slurs against the boy and said, you cannot do anything against me.
