The leaders of NDA took oath as ministers on 9th June. As minister does not represent just a ministry but also the region and community he/she belongs. This election the issues like caste census, social justice, women empowerment was hot topic of discussion. In this scenario, it’s important to know about the representation of Bahujan communities in council of mister. At present there are 71 council of ministers headed by prime ministers. Among 70 council of ministers, 27 are Other Backward Castes (OBCs), 10 are from Scheduled Castes (SCs), 5 are from Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 5 are from minorities. However, out of 543 members of Lok Sabha less than 10 percent Bahujans are inducted as council of ministers. There is no Muslim minister appointed as council of ministers.
