After, a big setback by Supreme Court on Same Sex marriage, the Finance Ministry had issued advisory in which people from LGBTQIA+ community can open joint bank account and they can also nominate their partners in case of any mishappening. This decision had been welcomed by LGBTQIA+ community. Even before government announcement, many of the private banks had opened such kind of facilities for queer couple where they can have joint account and nominate their partners in joint accounts. This move is an affirmative step by the government towards the empowerment of LGBTQIA community.
